We have something new this year! A Book Club Blog! We would like to invite students, teachers, parents…the list is endless!…to contribute! Let’s have an online discussion about this year’s book club books as well as other books on the Maine Student Book Award list. Did you read an MSBA book that you want to discuss? Let’s talk about it! Notice that there are links along the side to all of this year’s book club books, author sites for the authors of this year’s book club choices, and MSBA info sites. In addition, if you click on the link, Ideas for Blog Discussions, you will see a list of questions/ideas that you may want to think about when writing your posts.

Let’s have some fun with the Maine Student Book Award Book Club BLOG this year!

What was your favorite book club book last year?

Last year’s book club members! We want to hear from you! Of all the books that we featured in book club last year, which one was your favorite? If you can’t remember all the books, click on the Links on the side of the page.

My favorite book last year was definitely The Lightning Thief! What a great story! I’m not surprised that it won the Maine Student Book Award! I really enjoyed the beginning of the story before Percy realizes that he is a Half-Blood, and all these strange things are happening to him and he can’t figure out why! Can you imagine if you could vaporize your math teacher?!

I think that Annabeth is my favorite character. She is a strong girl who can definitely take care of herself, but she has a soft side, too!

Which Greek god would you like to have for a parent if you found out you were a Half-Blood?
